Role Overview

The Project Director position in Sydney is a senior leadership role responsible for spearheading design and delivery processes, supporting Directors, leading project teams, and managing contracts to meet performance goals while mitigating risks. In addition to driving operational success locally, the role also demands active involvement in business development, client relationship management, budgeting, resourcing, training, and fostering a positive team culture. A thorough understanding of the Sydney market context is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects from design through delivery, ensuring targets and timelines are met.
• Collaborate with Directors on business development to secure new opportunities and expand professional networks.
• Manage annual budgets aligned with Director expectations.
• Oversee team resourcing, including allocation, attraction, and retention of talent.
• Coordinate training and professional development initiatives for staff.
• Contribute to team growth and maintain a diverse, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture.
• Maintain proactive client engagement and nurture strong relationships.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should possess a tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline, backed by over 10 years of experience in project and development management consultancy. At least 5 years of this experience must be within the Sydney market and consultancy environment. Proven leadership of dynamic teams, ranging from graduate-level professionals to senior project managers, is required. The ideal candidate leads by example and consistently delivers high-quality project results and exceptional stakeholder experiences.
