Project Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a Project Accountant for a permanent full-time position based in Redfern with flexible work-from-home options. This is a hands-on role requiring ownership of the entire financial process for projects, including revenue recognition, billing, job costing, and final reconciliations. You will report to the APAC Controller and collaborate closely with Producers and Account Leads, providing financial oversight for projects across Sydney and Singapore. This position offers significant autonomy and the chance to create a tangible commercial impact within a dynamic finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end project costing, vendor setup, and maintain precise project cost data in finance and operation systems.
• Verify purchase orders and vendor invoices against project budgets and deliverables, ensuring purchase orders are closed before final reconciliations.
• Handle onboarding and compliance for vendors and freelancers across APAC, including managing Certificates of Insurance, Master Service Agreements, rate cards, and Scopes of Work.
• Supervise APAC accounts payable and receivable operations, including invoice processing, tracking aging, conducting weekly payments, and supplier reconciliations.
• Support month-end closure with bank reconciliations, general journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.

Essential Requirements

• Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification.
• Between 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, particularly in agency finance or project accounting.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and experience using accounting software; familiarity with Procim is highly advantageous.
• Comprehensive knowledge of GST compliance regulations for Australia and Singapore.
• Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with proven ability to establish effective working relationships with producers, account managers, and external suppliers.
• Self-driven, proactive problem solver with excellent prioritisation skills managing multiple projects within fast-paced teams.

Compensation and Location

This full-time position is based in Redfern with genuine flexibility to work from home. The salary range offered is $90,000 to $100,000 plus superannuation.
