About The Smith Family
The Smith Family is a national charity dedicated to helping children and youth surmount educational disadvantages caused by poverty, enabling them to succeed now and in the future.
Role Overview
The Programs Coordinator will be part of the Learning for Life team based in Launceston, Tasmania, overseeing the implementation and coordination of educational programs that support disadvantaged children from early years through to high school. This position supports program delivery through collaboration with partner schools and community groups, including volunteer training and recognition. The role is temporary full-time until May 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Use data-driven methods to assess community and school needs to guide program implementation.
- Build and maintain productive partnerships with local schools and community organisations for program delivery.
- Provide recognition, assistance, and training to volunteers involved in program delivery.
- Support maintenance and delivery of various education-centred programs.
- Collaborate as an integral member of the local and broader Learning for Life teams.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in planning and coordinating educational or community programs, including direct delivery to small groups.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and nurture relevant partnerships.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage daily workload, problem solve, and adapt to unexpected changes.
- Good computer skills with the motivation to complete administrative and data entry tasks to meet objectives.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
