Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Programme Manager to support the Irish Search and Rescue (SAR) Director in overseeing the delivery of the Irish SAR Programme based in Dublin. This position entails leading the Programme Management Office (PMO) to ensure robust governance, excellent stakeholder engagement, proficient risk and issue management, and achievement of strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the seamless transition and implementation of the Irish SAR contract into routine operations.
- Direct and manage the PMO team and governance procedures associated with the programme.
- Handle all programme planning activities including risk assessment, issue resolution, dependency oversight, change management, and benefits realization tracking.
- Develop and present management reports and governance updates to senior executives.
- Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
- Conduct programme management meetings and provide strategic guidance to the Irish SAR Director.
- Ensure that programme efforts are closely aligned with business goals, financial parameters, and operational needs.
- Contribute to business development activities and serve as deputy for the Irish SAR Director when necessary.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated extensive experience in managing substantial public sector or government programmes.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to lead teams effectively.
- Outstanding communication capabilities combined with strong stakeholder relationship management and problem-solving aptitude.
- Proven track record in prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
- Advanced user proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, and other related Microsoft software.
- A Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree or an equivalent level of professional experience.
