About the British Council and Role Purpose

Join our Education team in Singapore to play a pivotal role in executing impactful education programmes that enhance UK–Singapore partnerships. Your responsibilities will include providing operational, financial, and administrative support across a range of global and client-funded initiatives, ensuring effective, compliant, and impactful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and coordinate education-related projects, events, workshops, and training sessions.
- Manage programme administration, procurement processes, grants handling, and maintaining relevant documentation.
- Assist in monitoring, reporting, data gathering, and maintaining the quality standards of projects.
- Ensure adherence to British Council policies, governance frameworks, and audit requirements.
- Track project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures to maintain financial oversight.
- Manage processing of purchase orders, invoices, and vendor payments complying with financial guidelines.
- Keep accurate records of financials and programme activities.
- Foster strong working relationships with partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of contracted services.
- Support collaboration efforts between internal teams and external delivery partners.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion by embedding inclusive practices in programme planning and execution.
- Contribute to maintaining a fair, diverse, and anti-racist working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in administrative and financial coordination roles.
- Background supporting programme or project execution.
- Familiarity with procurement procedures, vendor payment management, and finance record-keeping.
- Understanding of monitoring, evaluation, and preparing project reports.
- Competency in Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with procurement or financial management systems such as SAP.
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Advantageous: experience managing social media content and knowledge of the higher education sectors in Singapore and/or the UK.
Educational and Language Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma qualification, or equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.

- Contract Type: IDC (Indefinite Duration Contract)
- Pay Band: 4
- Work Mode: Hybrid with three days per week in office
