Overview
The Regulatory Readiness team at Meta plays a crucial role in keeping the company prepared for the rapidly evolving global regulatory landscape. This team monitors regulatory changes and drives appropriate actions impacting Meta's products and billions of users globally. The EMEA-focused Program Manager will handle Meta’s regulatory inquiries and reporting requirements across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions. This position liaises with various internal experts to translate complex regulatory requests into clear and comprehensive responses demonstrating Meta’s compliance efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end management of regulatory responses, including inquiries, statutory requests, investigations, and consultations across EMEA, with special emphasis on European jurisdictions.
- Coordinate transparency and compliance reports ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery within the region.
- Oversee cross-functional regulatory initiatives by triaging new regulatory demands, strategizing responses, engaging legal, policy, and product experts, managing timelines, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Monitor emerging regulatory developments and pressures in EMEA, facilitating readiness programs to prepare teams for upcoming obligations and enforcement dates.
- Support election-related preparedness initiatives across EMEA regions.
- Develop clear and professional executive-level communications on regulatory status, compliance posture, and emerging risks, simplifying complex regulatory topics for diverse audiences.
- Implement and enhance scalable workflows, tools, and frameworks that improve the efficiency and consistency of the regulatory response process as demands increase.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, regulatory affairs, public policy, compliance, risk management, or equivalent roles.
- Proven expertise in managing complex, time-sensitive projects involving multiple stakeholders under strict deadlines.
- Experience operating within the EMEA regulatory landscape, with in-depth knowledge of at least two key jurisdictions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of producing polished materials suitable for executive audiences under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk assessments, bias mitigation, and quality reviews.
- Continual development in AI-related skills such as prompt engineering and agent orchestration with an up-to-date understanding of AI technologies.
- Strong organizational capabilities and ability to promote accountability in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency in additional relevant languages due to the multilingual nature of EMEA regulatory jurisdictions.
- Experience coordinating with global teams across multiple time zones.
- Background in managing engagements with regulators or governmental bodies.
- Proven success in integrating AI tools to enhance workflows and achieve measurable improvements in efficiency and quality.
- Experience in the technology sector, especially concerning content regulation, data privacy, AI governance, online safety, or platform accountability.
- Advanced academic qualifications in law, public policy, international relations, political science, or related disciplines.
- Familiarity with major EMEA regulatory frameworks and procedures.
- Experience handling regulatory transparency and compliance reporting.
