About the Role

AAWAJ is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join their team in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, as a Program Coordinator. This full-time position focuses on delivering comprehensive restorative care to children who are survivors of sexual abuse. The role involves providing psychosocial and legal support throughout the justice process to ensure survivor protection and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the liaison with authorities, including Police, Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain thorough case records, manage the Management Information System (MIS), and prepare progress reports regularly.
  • Organize training sessions and capacity-building initiatives for staff and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate visits to schools to conduct awareness campaigns and orient teachers on relevant issues.
  • Participate in review meetings, facilitate data collection efforts, and contribute to action research projects.
  • Provide psychosocial and rehabilitation assistance to affected children and their families.
  • Assist in the filing of First Information Reports (FIRs) and collaborate with legal professionals such as lawyers and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) representatives.
  • Accompany children and families for court hearings, ensuring the safety and protection of witnesses throughout the process.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Possess a postgraduate degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Child Development, or related disciplines; alternatively, a graduate with a minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience is acceptable.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and possess strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Hindi.
  • Have a solid understanding of child protection laws and a firm commitment to upholding child rights.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with sensitivity and diplomacy in interactions.
  • Be willing to work in demanding environments, including occasional late hours as necessary.
  • Ability to commit for at least 2 years is preferred.
  • Must possess a personal vehicle and be prepared for travel at short notice.
  • Female candidates will be given preference during selection.

Additional Information

Remuneration: A monthly salary of 30000 INR is offered for this position.
