Job description
About the Role
This opportunity is with a forward-thinking and expanding law firm focused on developing their Professional Risks practice. The firm offers a collaborative and supportive culture without excessive hierarchy or long-hour expectations. The practice team is recognized as Tier 2 in Legal 500 and provides a diverse workload involving professional indemnity, property damage claims, insurance coverage disputes, management liability, cyber risks, and complex multi-million-pound disputes.
Key Responsibilities
As a Professional Risks lawyer, you will handle claims for clients including construction professionals, contractors, accountants, technology experts, care providers, and not-for-profits. The role involves working primarily from the defendant side on professional indemnity or property damage liability claims, often with insurance coverage elements. Senior roles include client relationship development, new business generation, mentoring junior lawyers, and contributing to practice growth.
Requirements
Ideal candidates will have experience in professional indemnity or property damage liability claims, particularly from a defense perspective and familiarity with insurance coverage work. Experience with London Market clients is especially valued. The firm is open to candidates across multiple levels from Associate through to Partner.
Why Join?
The firm combines the resources of a large international network with the approachable culture of a progressive law firm. High-quality work is balanced with a collaborative environment free from unnecessary politics. There is a robust pipeline of work and multiple vacancies in the Manchester and Leeds offices. Compensation ranges between £45,000 and £100,000 plus bonus and benefits depending on seniority and experience.
