Role Overview

The Post-Construction Cleaner will be tasked with preparing newly constructed or renovated environments by thoroughly removing debris, dust, and residues. This full-time, on-site position located in Toronto, Ontario involves cleaning floors, walls, ceilings, windows, fixtures, bathrooms, kitchens, and other common areas to the highest cleanliness standards. Safe use of cleaning chemicals and tools, adherence to site safety protocols, and timely communication with supervisors regarding hazards or damages are essential. Collaboration with site managers and colleagues is crucial to meet project deadlines and readiness inspections.

Responsibilities

• Eliminate construction debris, dust, and residues from all property surfaces including floors, walls, and ceilings.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window and glass cleaning, and surface sanitation.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in washrooms, kitchens, and shared spaces.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals responsibly and in compliance with safety guidelines.
• Report any observed damages or unsafe conditions promptly to supervisors.
• Coordinate with on-site managers and team members to ensure cleaning tasks are completed on schedule.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in post-construction or commercial cleaning environments, with knowledge of dust and debris management and detailed surface cleaning.
• Proficiency in operating cleaning machines and equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, ladders, and pressure washers while following chemical handling safety rules.
• Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to achieving and maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Physical capability to engage in manual work including lifting, bending, extended standing periods, and working in challenging environmental conditions.
• Strong time management to adhere to schedules, meet deadlines, and availability for occasional evening or weekend shifts.
• Basic communication abilities for following directions, collaborating with supervisors, and documenting completed work or concerns.
• Awareness of occupational safety including proper use of PPE and compliance with site regulations.
• Additional assets include prior cleaning or facilities maintenance experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent certification.
