Production Planner - Scheduler

About the Role

We are recruiting for a well-established New Zealand-owned engineering manufacturing company that excels in producing precision-machined components and high-performance engineered products for diverse industrial sectors. This position is located in Bay of Plenty, Mount Maunganui.

The company is respected in the market and continues to invest significantly in its workforce, systems, and CNC machining technology. They are expanding their planning team by adding another Production Planner & Scheduler.

Key Responsibilities

• Scheduling and planning work across various machining operations to optimize workflow.
• Managing production capacity effectively to meet customer delivery timelines.
• Coordinating material requirements and supplier deliveries to align with production schedules.
• Updating and maintaining ERP planning data to reflect current production plans.
• Tracking production progress and making schedule adjustments as necessary.
• Identifying bottlenecks and constraints within the production process and implementing solutions.
• Communicating priorities, lead times, and schedule changes to all relevant departments.
• Supporting initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and enhancing operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will have prior experience in manufacturing environments with insight into production workflows. Suitable backgrounds include roles such as Production Planner, Scheduler, Manufacturing or Materials Planner, Maintenance Planner, Production or Workshop Supervisor.

Experience in sectors like engineering manufacturing, machining, fabrication, precision manufacturing, or plastics will be advantageous.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience planning or scheduling production activities
• Understanding manufacturing processes and machine capacity planning
• Familiarity with ERP, MRP, or manufacturing software systems
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and dynamic demands
• Practical and solution-oriented problem-solving approach
