Job Purpose

The role involves performing various electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies and sub-assemblies. Operators will also set up and manage automatic or semi-automatic manufacturing machinery, and may handle additional duties such as labeling packages and inserting data sheets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow written instructions in English to assemble, inspect, test, and repair products.
  • Set up and operate diverse manufacturing machines and equipment as per protocols.
  • Maintain tool and equipment cleanliness according to established procedures.
  • Accurately document processes and results using approved forms.
  • Handle hazardous waste appropriately, disposing in designated areas.
  • Troubleshoot routine problems and suggest improvements.
  • Provide training to new or existing team members when required.
  • Keep all necessary position certifications current to comply with standards.
  • Complete assigned tasks daily, prioritizing under supervisor guidance.
  • Maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information or materials.

Education and Competencies

  • Minimum Leaving Certificate qualification or equivalent aptitude test success selected by Abbott Vascular.
  • Relevant prior work experience is a plus but not mandatory; equivalent education and experience combinations are acceptable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High enthusiasm, energy, and the ability to adapt quickly within a team setting.
  • Flexible, innovative mindset with a problem-solving approach.
  • Capable of performing routine tasks with minimal judgment based on detailed written or verbal guidelines.
