Production Operator / Mill Hand

About the Role

Join the AgriSolutions Animal Nutrition division at our Lismore Feed Mill in a full-time, permanent position as a production operator. In this role, you will be an integral member of a close-knit production team responsible for the safe and effective manufacturing, packaging, and transfer of animal nutrition products.

This physically demanding position involves regular manual handling such as lifting and moving products and working next to machinery, equipment, and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate feed milling and production machinery, including bagging and palletizing lines.
• Assist with feed manufacturing tasks such as ingredient handling, batching, and stock transfer.
• Operate a forklift for tasks like receiving shipments, dispatching goods, loading, unloading, and yard movements (valid forklift license required).
• Maintain high standards in housekeeping, hygiene, product quality, and safety by following safe operating procedures and promptly reporting hazards or incidents.
• Wear all mandatory personal protective equipment and adhere to site safety, manual handling, and traffic management protocols at all times.
• Support additional duties around the mill, yard, and warehouse operations as needed.

Candidate Requirements

• Valid forklift license is essential.
• Prior experience in manufacturing, feed milling, agricultural environments, warehousing, logistics, or transportation is highly desirable.
• A strong commitment to safety processes, including correct PPE use and hazard reporting.
• Capability to safely undertake manual handling tasks, including frequent lifting and physical labor.
• Comfort working around mobile plant equipment such as forklifts, trucks, and production machinery.
• Attention to detail and dedication to maintaining product quality standards.
• A positive, team-oriented mindset with eagerness to learn.
• Holding an unrestricted manual HR license or higher is an added advantage.
