Job Overview
Join Tronox's Kwinana Pigment Plant as a Process Shift Operator where you'll play a key role in ensuring the plant operates safely, efficiently, and without interruption. This role offers a hands-on, problem-solving environment within a high-performing production team.
Shift Pattern
This role follows a 12-hour rotating Day/Night sportsman roster: 2 days day shift/2 nights night shift, 5 days off, 2 days day shift/3 nights night shift, 4 days off, then 3 days day shift/2 nights night shift, followed by 5 days off.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage plant processes and equipment to maintain safe, stable, and efficient production.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on process equipment, including pumps, valves, and control systems, reducing downtime and maximizing output.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality assessments to ensure product specifications are met.
- Adhere proactively to safety protocols by performing safety inspections and responding to any incidents or abnormalities.
- Collaborate with supervisors, planners, and peers to meet production targets and improve plant performance.
- Keep detailed records of process conditions, production activities, and maintenance tasks.
- Detect and address process issues, equipment malfunctions, and production bottlenecks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by sharing ideas and participating in process optimization.

Candidate Profile
Technical Skills:
- Proven experience operating, monitoring, or maintaining fixed plant process equipment (mandatory).
- Knowledge or experience with boilers and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) is advantageous.
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills for basic maintenance and tool usage.
Problem-Solving & Safety Orientation:
- Strong capability in troubleshooting operational challenges confidently.
- Commitment to safety practices utilizing tools like Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Take 5 safety checks.
Work Ethic & Collaboration:
- Detail-oriented with ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures precisely.
- Excellent communication skills and a cooperative, positive team attitude.
- Ability to adjust to shifting priorities and willingness to work rotating day and night shifts.
- Keen interest in continual learning and skills development.
Work Environment & Eligibility
- Must have unrestricted work rights in Australia (no sponsorship available).
- Residence within 45 minutes of Kwinana is required due to shift patterns.
