Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Owner to lead the post-purchase customer experience with a core emphasis on activation, matching, relevance, and personalized recommendations in a remote, globally distributed environment. This role requires end-to-end management of the customer journey to ensure paying users quickly realize meaningful value by enhancing how they find and connect with relevant opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead ownership of the post-purchase customer journey focusing on activation, matching accuracy, relevance, and customer value realization speed.
  • Balance offer volume with recommendation quality to ensure customers receive an appropriate and effective selection, avoiding overwhelm or saturation.
  • Enhance the trustworthiness and relevance of recommendations and increase the delivery of pertinent invitations to paying customers.
  • Boost the probability that new customers find high-quality matches within their first week.
  • Create and refine engagement features including gamification, nudges, reminders, and conversation reactivation to sustain involvement.
  • Evaluate matching parameters across different user segments utilizing segmentation, personalization, and data enrichment techniques to improve recommendation efficiency.
  • Detect bottlenecks and growth opportunities throughout the post-purchase phases using data analysis, qualitative research, and product intuition.
  • Translate discovered product opportunities into well-defined, testable hypotheses with measurable success criteria.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, analytics, and data/machine learning teams to prioritize and implement product improvements.
  • Manage product requirement specifications, prioritization, and timelines to guarantee smooth execution.
  • Conduct A/B testing and other product experiments, analyze outcomes, and iterate or scale based on evidence.
  • Own product outcomes end-to-end, emphasizing impact-driven delivery over process-centric approaches.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Practical experience in B2C product management, particularly in aspects such as customer experience, journey mapping, activation, onboarding, or initial session optimization.
  • Experience working on discovery-driven products that handle extensive volumes of offers, listings, or matches.
  • Solid understanding of search relevance, feed optimization, matching algorithms, recommendation engines, and personalization strategies.
  • Familiarity with segmentation and enrichment of offers or listings to improve recommendation quality.
  • Background in marketplaces, aggregators, dating/social discovery, real estate, classifieds, e-commerce with extensive catalogs, or similar domains reliant on discovery and recommendation technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate product hypotheses, delineate clear requirements, and define success metrics.
  • Proven track record in managing product development lifecycle from conception through implementation to evaluation.
  • Competence in designing and evaluating A/B tests and other experimental methodologies.
  • Comfort and experience combining qualitative insights with quantitative data to guide product decisions.
  • Strong data literacy with capability to identify growth drivers from product metrics.
  • Proven collaboration skills, working closely with cross-functional teams including design, analytics, engineering, and data/ML experts.
  • Outcome-focused mindset with strong autonomy and decisiveness.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive amidst shifting priorities in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
  • Clear, straightforward communication style and an openness to treat experiments and failures as opportunities to learn and improve.

Benefits

  • Remote full-time employment arrangement.
  • Compensation details shared during recruitment prior to hiring.
  • 28 calendar days of paid vacation per year.
  • 7 additional wellness days annually for personal, household, or recuperation purposes.
  • Referral bonuses up to $5,000 for successful candidate referrals.
  • Half reimbursement for participation in professional courses, international conferences, and industry events.
  • Discounts on English language classes.
  • Health-related financial support of up to $1,000 gross yearly for personal health insurance or allowable medical expenses if corporate insurance is not provided.
  • Support for home-office or coworking workspace setup, reimbursing up to $1,000 gross every three years for eligible expenses beyond company-provided locations.
  • An internal gamified rewards program offering merchandise, team activities, massage vouchers, and other perks.
  • Opportunity to collaborate within an international, remote-first team environment.
