Product Owner – eCommerce

Role Overview

Tenarai seeks a seasoned Technical Product Owner to spearhead product strategy, prioritize backlogs, and oversee complete product delivery cycles. This individual will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, Product Managers, Engineering teams, and Architects to translate business goals into actionable and measurable product results.

Key Duties

• Ensure product backlog priorities align with the overall product vision, business goals, and technical strategy.
• Define Minimal Viable Products (MVPs) while balancing business impact, technical debt, and platform enhancement needs.
• Convert business OKRs into targeted sprint objectives and quantifiable results.
• Develop user stories that are clear, succinct, and have well-defined, testable acceptance criteria.
• Manage end-to-end delivery of the product backlog and coordinate dependencies across teams.
• Lead Agile processes such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, review sessions, and prioritization efforts.
• Collaborate with development teams on effort estimation, sprint execution, business demonstrations, and user acceptance testing.
• Serve as the main liaison between stakeholders, communicating product features, risks, and delivery timelines.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Over a decade of experience as a Technical Product Owner, ideally within the retail sector.
• More than five years engaged with eCommerce platform development or management.
• Strong command of Product Strategy, OKR Management, and Agile frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Scrum, Kanban, and tools including JIRA and Azure DevOps.
• Technical familiarity with Microservices architecture, API integrations, databases, and cloud environments.
• Proven record of effectively managing diverse teams and stakeholder groups operating across various time zones.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, coupled with strong analytical and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Additional Preferred Expertise

• Understanding of regulatory and security standards such as SOX, PII, PCI compliance, transaction security, and confidentiality protocols.
• Experience in defining and administering OKRs to deliver strategic impact.
