Job description
Role Summary
We are seeking a Product Owner / Technical Product Lead to guide and enhance API platform capabilities within a multifaceted financial services setting. This position requires an individual who merges solid product ownership skills with hands-on knowledge of API ecosystems, market platforms, integration techniques, developer engagement, and engineering-driven delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of refining and prioritizing the product backlog for the API platform and associated digital service features.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, UX, security, DevOps, and business teams to translate goals into precise user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Develop strategies for API marketplace, developer portals, API reuse, onboarding processes, and governance enhancements.
- Lead discovery, prioritization, and delivery scheduling, weighing business value, customer impact, risks, dependencies, and technical feasibility.
- Engage stakeholders effectively, communicating roadmap decisions and articulating trade-offs clearly.
- Support Agile ceremonies, maintain backlog health, ensure sprint readiness, and track value realization aligned with agreed objectives.
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Technical Product Lead in enterprise digital environments.
- Practical knowledge of APIs, API gateways, developer portals, API catalogs or marketplaces, and managing API lifecycles.
- Experience collaborating with engineering and architecture teams within Agile frameworks.
- Competence in drafting clear user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and backlog prioritization.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across business, technology, architecture, risk, and delivery teams.
- Familiarity working in regulated, complex, and delivery-driven settings.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in the financial services or banking sectors.
- Exposure to API management platforms such as Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, or Azure API Management.
- Understanding of OpenAPI specifications, API standards, service integration, and governance.
- Track record enhancing developer experience, self-service onboarding, or reusable platform services.
- Awareness of cloud-native delivery models, DevOps methodologies, and secure-by-design principles.
