Role Overview
As a Product Owner for the Animal Performance & Traceability team, you will act as the customer’s advocate throughout software development cycles, ensuring our web and mobile applications provide tangible value to farming producers worldwide.
This permanent, full-time role is based in Melville, Hamilton, New Zealand, requiring a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog in alignment with strategic objectives.
- Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the development team.
- Collect, document, and refine user stories utilizing customer feedback and UX research.
- Champion the customer perspective within the development process.
- Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and internal stakeholders to deliver software solutions that provide real customer value.
- Contribute to the creation of features that enhance farm productivity and customer success.
Candidate Profile
We seek a strategic, customer-centric Product Owner who excels in agile environments and can translate customer insights into actionable software features. You should be adept at managing competing priorities, interpreting business needs into concrete development plans, and collaborating effectively across teams.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in agile software development methodologies.
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps for backlog and development management.
- Exceptional communication, analytical thinking, and leadership abilities.
- Skilled at prioritizing features, defect fixes, and change requests based on business impact.
- Comfortable engaging with technical teams, product stakeholders, and interpreting customer insights.
- A forward-thinking mindset with dedication to continuous delivery and improvement.
