Product Owner

Overview

We are looking for a strategic and customer-oriented Product Owner to spearhead product requirements definition, prioritize backlog tasks, facilitate alignment between business and technical teams, and drive successful product delivery that generates measurable value. This role collaborates with diverse teams including Product Managers, Business Analysts, UX/UI Designers, Developers, QA personnel, and Project Managers throughout all phases of the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and clearly communicate the vision, goals, priorities, and targeted business outcomes of the product.
• Own and continuously rank the product backlog by assessing business impact, customer priorities, urgency, dependencies, and technical feasibility.
• Collect, analyze, and translate stakeholder and user needs into precise product requirements.
• Create comprehensive user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, use cases, and detailed product documentation.
• Serve as the main bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
• Collaborate with Developers, Tech Leads, Business Analysts, UX/UI Designers, QA Engineers, and Project Managers to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities before and during development.
• Lead Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, and product demos as required.
• Prioritize requests for new features, improvements, technical upgrades, bug fixes, and change requests based on product objectives.
• Maintain and update product roadmaps, release plans, priorities, and schedules.
• Review delivered features to ensure they meet expected requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), collaborating with technical teams to resolve issues.
• Monitor product performance metrics, user feedback, adoption rates, and quality standards.
• Utilize data analysis, customer insights, and market research to inform product decisions and identify improvement opportunities.
• Manage stakeholder expectations by communicating product priorities, progress updates, potential risks, dependencies, and trade-offs.
• Evaluate conflicting requirements and make informed prioritization decisions balancing various constraints.
• Organize product releases, enhancements, system integrations, and migrations carefully to ensure smooth delivery.
• Break down high-level requirements into actionable development tasks with technical teams.
• Identify and manage risks, dependencies, assumptions, constraints, and scope modifications throughout the product lifecycle.
• Ensure product-related documentation and decisions are current and accurate.
• Support product launches including user onboarding, training, communication, and post-launch evaluations.
• Gather continuous feedback from customers and internal teams to refine future product iterations.
• Drive improvements in product development processes, Agile practices, and backlog quality for more effective delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or related product role.
• Typically 3 to 5+ years in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Product Management, or technology delivery roles.
• Strong grasp of Agile frameworks, Scrum methodology, product development lifecycles, and delivery techniques.
• Experience managing product backlogs, defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and maintaining roadmaps.
• Excellent skills in requirement gathering, validation, prioritization, and clarification.
• Deep understanding of customer journeys, user experiences, product functionalities, and business processes.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional technology and business groups.
• Proficient in stakeholder engagement, communication, facilitation, and negotiation.
• Capability to balance customer needs, business goals, technical limits, timelines, and resources.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and critical reasoning skills.
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Trello, Miro or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of software development concepts, APIs, databases, integrations, and architecture is advantageous.
• Experience managing UAT, testing, defect tracking, release planning, and implementation processes.
• Data-driven approach to interpreting KPIs, customer feedback, and performance indicators.
• Experience in digital products, SaaS, fintech, banking, e-commerce, enterprise systems, or technology platforms is beneficial.
• Professional certifications such as PSPO, CSPO, or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager are a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Administration, Engineering, Product Management, or related discipline preferred.
• Strong command of written and spoken English communication.
