Job description
Company Overview
Lea and Jonas, after successfully scaling two of Europe's top construction tech firms, are now building Kuro, an intelligent project data system for the construction industry. Kuro serves as the intelligence layer for construction, helping Europe's largest construction enterprises, managing over €30 billion in annual project volume, automate workflows and make faster, better decisions. The company is based in Berlin and currently has 16 employees, joining a team of ex-founders and builders known for ambition and kindness.
About the Role
As a Product Manager at Kuro, you will lead the development of the core platform that underpins Kuro's products, focusing on foundational capabilities like data domain models, project graphs, ontologies, workflow abstractions, permissions, document versioning, lineage, and collaboration. Collaborating closely with the Co-Founder & CPO, platform engineering, design, and Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs), you will define strategy, execution, and ensure platform extensibility, scalability, and power with each release.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute decisively to roadmap creation balancing immediate platform needs with long-term strategic investments.
- Lead strategic initiatives to capture critical decisions across project lifecycles and enhance Kuro's scalable data domain model.
- Define success metrics and utilize production data to iterate platform functionalities, communicating updates across the organization.
- Make informed prioritization and scoping decisions in partnership with leadership on major architecture and product direction.
- Identify opportunities by working with Forward Deployed Engineers to translate complex operational problems into clear product requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years of product management experience with technical products such as AI, automation, developer tools, or enterprise software.
- Demonstrated success in shipping data platform products, APIs, or graph/ontology-based systems.
- Strong familiarity with challenges related to production deployment of LLM-powered and AI-native products.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous settings, making strategic decisions with incomplete information and balancing short-term and long-term goals.
- Passion for understanding user workflows and eager to acquire deep domain expertise in construction.
- Fluent German language skills for effective communication with customers and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with knowledge graphs, ontologies, or workflow abstraction frameworks.
- Background as a founder or experience in early-stage startups.
- Previous work in construction technology (ConTech), AEC software, or related industries.
Why Join Kuro?
You will join Kuro at a pivotal moment where the product is live and growing. You have the opportunity to shape the customer journey and product evolution in an industry undergoing rapid transformation. Explore cutting-edge technical challenges like processing over one million construction pages monthly, entity resolution, evidence-linked answers, and 3D project graphs.
Interview Process
- Talent Acquisition Call: Intro, motivation, logistics, and fit (30 minutes).
- Impact Call: Deep dive with co-founder Jonas and product understanding (45 minutes).
- Challenge: Time-boxed product exercise (up to 4 hours).
- On-site Day including culture interview, meetings with several team members, and team lunch/dinner.
- Final hiring decision.
