Job description

About the Role

We are seeking a Product Manager to join an early-stage technology company based in East London, Docklands. The company is developing a consumer mobile platform aimed at simplifying complex services. This on-site, full-time position offers a base salary ranging from £70,000 to £100,000 annually, plus equity options. The role entails full ownership of the mobile product, from identifying customer needs and prioritizing features to overseeing delivery and evaluating performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the mobile product roadmap, balancing customer value, commercial impact, evidence, delivery effort, and dependencies.
  • Translate the product vision and specifications into a realistic, phased release plan, deciding what features to build immediately or postpone.
  • Collaborate with growth and commercial teams to understand demand, validate customer problems, and advance experimental features into production.
  • Define detailed requirements, user journeys, acceptance criteria, and success metrics to guide engineering teams.
  • Manage day-to-day product delivery with engineering—resolving uncertainties, managing scope trade-offs, identifying risks early, and ensuring high quality.
  • Create intuitive mobile experiences that distill complex data and technical capabilities into trustworthy, user-friendly features.
  • Analyze activation, engagement, retention, and feature adoption metrics alongside business outcomes; use feedback and data to enhance live products.
  • Communicate priorities, progress, and blockers across teams; coordinate with distributed colleagues and identify talent gaps as the team expands.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum five years of relevant experience with tangible product ownership and successful delivery of consumer mobile applications.
  • Proven track record of taking apps or significant product areas from initial versions through launch and growth phases.
  • Strong technical acumen, able to engage with engineers on APIs, data flow, integrations, architectural constraints, and delivery decisions.
  • Commercially and analytically minded, capable of linking customer problems to business value and defining success metrics.
  • Excellent product and user experience judgment, able to simplify complex services for mobile users.
  • Effective communicator with confidence to challenge assumptions, make decisions, and establish accountability while fostering productive relationships.
  • Comfortable navigating the fluid priorities typical of early-stage environments without rigid frameworks.
  • Available to work on-site with the London-based team.

Preferred Additional Experience

  • Background in building consumer products within fast-growing technology or financial services companies, or scaling startup products.
  • Experience with products featuring complex integrations, connected devices, or data-driven user experiences.
  • Exposure to collaborations with AI or machine learning teams to convert technical capabilities into customer value.
  • Working with distributed engineering teams and contributing to growth of small product functions.

Initial Priorities

  • Gain a deep understanding of the current product, customer data, and engineering resources.
  • Formulate a focused roadmap with clear release priorities, ownership, and success criteria.
  • Establish an efficient delivery rhythm and implement priority improvements into production.
  • Create a feedback loop connecting customer behavior, market demand, and product performance to inform future decisions.

Working Conditions and Package

This role is fully on-site in London, requiring flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work during critical delivery phases. The position offers a competitive salary between £70,000 and £100,000 depending on experience, along with equity options. The candidate will gain substantial influence over the product and opportunities for increased responsibility as the company grows.

Hiring Process

Interviews will typically involve discussions with growth teams, commercial leadership, and engineering, and include a practical exercise focused on product roadmap planning. Details will be provided prior to interviews.
