Job description
About the Role
We are looking for a Product Manager to join Checkly, a fully remote DevTools SaaS company focused on empowering developers with advanced tools for monitoring and reliability. Operating asynchronously within UTC-3 to UTC+3 time zones and a standard 40-hour work week, Checkly partners with some of the most innovative AI and engineering companies globally.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the SVP of Product Engineering to define and evolve company and product strategy in the AI testing, monitoring, and observability sectors.
- Develop Checkly's approach to reliability in AI-native software, addressing monitoring for AI-generated code, agent-driven workflows, and LLM-powered features.
- Lead cross-functional projects involving Product Engineering, Sales, and Marketing, and act as a representative of the company within customer engagements and developer communities.
- Maintain close involvement with products and user problems, emphasizing strong understanding and empathy for DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering roles.
- Leverage AI tooling pragmatically in product development, knowing when to integrate AI and when not to.
Candidate Profile
- Experience as a software builder is essential: ex-engineer, ex-founder, or ex-solutions engineer who has coded and successfully shipped real software products.
- Comfortable working in startup environments—thriving amid ambiguity, smaller teams, and complete ownership from conception to outcome.
- Experience building technical products, preferably developer tools; familiarity with monitoring or observability products is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Open to candidates new to the formal Product Manager title but with relevant backgrounds such as founding or solutions engineering who are ready to focus fully on product ownership.
- Strong technical proficiency with AI tools, capable of prototyping, mockup creation, or independently assessing technical feasibility to drive progress.
- Must be fully remote within UTC-3 to UTC+3 time zones and able to travel within Europe without visa delays.
What You Should Expect
- An AI-first culture where AI usage permeates every aspect of work—no place for skepticism about AI integration.
- Async-first communication style prioritizing written collaboration over meetings.
- A lean team structure where you'll manage both strategic and operational tasks without layers of delegation.
- Rapid iteration and shifting priorities driven by customer feedback, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
- Decisions and product development heavily guided by customer signals rather than solely by intuition.
Benefits
- Transparent and competitive salary ranges based on location and seniority: €83,000–€120,000 for locations like Germany/UK, €75,000–€105,000 for locations like Spain/Poland/Ukraine, plus stock options.
- Remote-first workplace with flexible hours and low meeting load to maximize productivity.
- Work on a fast-growing, international team where your impact is visible and valued.
- 27 days paid vacation plus public holidays, paid sick leave, up to 14 weeks paid parental leave.
- Co-working and home office budget along with annual company kickoffs.
- Employee and contractor stock options.
Additional Information
Checkly is committed to inclusivity and encourages candidates of all backgrounds to apply, even if they don't meet 100% of the listed requirements. The company is transparent about its hiring process and culture via publicly available resources.
