Responsibilities

• Identify the core problem within a user request, process, or business goal; document assumptions and challenge initial solutions when evidence contradicts them.
• Rapidly progress from conceptual discussions to gathering evidence through research, data analysis, prototyping, technical exploration, and small-scale testing.
• Employ AI coding and prototyping tools to independently assess product functionalities and enhance teamwork with design and engineering teams.
• Define clear, quantifiable metrics for customer impact, operations, and business goals before significant engineering starts; determine viable minimal releases and maintain transparency about trade-offs.
• Minimize unnecessary documentation, meetings, tickets, and hand-offs; prioritize producing only materials that enhance decision-making and execution.
• Engage actively through development, quality assurance, launch, instrumentation, and post-launch review to utilize evidence for iterative improvements.
• Drive continuous team enhancement by experimenting with AI workflows and sharing successful practices.

AI Product Development Focus

• Discern where AI truly adds value to workflows or outcomes versus where traditional software is preferable.
• Develop deep understanding of model capabilities and limits to design appropriate tests, evaluations, failure classifications, quality standards, human oversight, escalation paths, and feedback mechanisms.
• Consider key product constraints such as trust, privacy, security, latency, cost, reliability, and hallucination risks; distinguish between impressive demos and reliable products.
• Evaluate AI-enabled work based on impact measures like productivity, cycle times, adoption rates, conversions, revenue, cost, quality, and risk.
