Job description

About the Role

Join a growing RegTech / SaaS company based in Manchester, blending hybrid work with 2 days weekly in-office. This Product Manager position offers a salary between £60,000 and £80,000 depending on experience. The company is focused on sophisticated communications compliance solutions used globally by thousands of organizations handling hundreds of millions of events monthly.

You will engage deeply with the entire product stack, from web capture and data pipelines to communications archiving and customer platforms. This role emphasizes genuine ownership of product outcomes rather than just managing tasks, with a strong reliance on AI tools integrated directly into workflow for research, prototyping, and communications. The environment supports rapid iteration where innovations move to production within a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of a product area, defining and advocating the roadmap and delivering results rapidly, typically weekly.
  • Guide 1 to 3 product engineering teams (each 2-6 members), collaboratively deciding priorities and outcomes without bureaucratic overhead.
  • Incorporate AI tools such as Claude or Cursor into daily activities including product requirements, research, prototyping, and communications.
  • Maintain weekly customer engagement to gather direct insights from advisors, compliance officers, and operations leads.
  • Make data-driven decisions, combining solid judgment and empirical evidence; procure data when unavailable through assumptions or original research.
  • Communicate transparently and frequently, reporting progress, raising issues early, and ensuring alignment between development and customer experience.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven track record of shipping products or features with clear ownership over strategy and a demonstrated willingness to stand by outcomes.
  • Experience owning and defending strategic direction beyond simply executing someone else's plan.
  • Strong product sensibility with the ability to discern and address minor but impactful issues.
  • Ability to make fast decisions favoring iterative improvement over prolonged analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills: direct, concise, opinionated, and open to correction.
  • Comfortable with data analytics and product metrics; capable of reasoning analytically even without complete data.
  • Practical hands-on usage of AI-powered tools daily (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Codex).
  • High standards for self and team performance.
  • Technical or software engineering background preferred to confidently discuss architectural and technical trade-offs.
  • At least 4 years of product management or related roles with strategic ownership.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as compliance or fintech is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience working with large language model (LLM) based product features in live environments.
  • Familiarity with modern product analytics platforms like PostHog or Pendo.
  • Published or audiovisual content such as blogs, Substack newsletters, GitHub projects, or YouTube channels.
  • Experience managing pod- or squad-based product teams.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary aligned with experience.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and an additional personal birthday day off.
  • Flexible hybrid working environment centered in Manchester.
  • Health and wellbeing allowance of £100 monthly via Juno.
  • Vitality health insurance and additional cash plan.
  • Enhanced company pension contributions.
  • Life insurance coverage at four times the salary.
  • State-of-the-art MacBook Pro with an equipment budget.
  • Equity Appreciation Rights offering participation in company growth through equity incentives.
