Job description
Role Overview
We seek an experienced Product Manager to strategically lead the modernization and AI-driven transformation of our legacy supply chain product suite. This position requires a balance of maintaining existing system stability while innovating with modern AI features to meet future business needs. Collaborating closely with engineering, design, customer success, and leadership teams, you will define and deliver a comprehensive roadmap that merges legacy knowledge with cutting-edge digital advancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and continuously refine the product roadmap, incorporating maintenance, modernization, and innovation for legacy supply chain solutions.
- Formulate and communicate clear transformation strategies including migration planning, technical debt reduction, and phased modernization initiatives.
- Convert business objectives into a prioritized backlog informed by data analytics, customer insights, and competitive market analysis.
- Work with leadership to ensure product strategy aligns with broader organizational digital transformation goals.
- Perform thorough evaluations of legacy architectures, user experience, workflows, and system integrations to spot modernization opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering to design and implement migration approaches such as re-platforming and incremental upgrades while balancing stability and progress.
- Minimize technical debt without interrupting business continuity for existing customers.
- Leverage deep supply chain domain knowledge — covering procurement, inventory, logistics, warehousing, demand planning, and order fulfillment — to guide product priorities.
- Engage directly with customers and stakeholders to identify workflow challenges.
- Benchmark products against current industry trends, standards, and competitors.
- Evaluate and prioritize AI/ML integration opportunities, including demand forecasting, anomaly detection, intelligent automation, conversational interfaces, and predictive analytics.
- Partner with data science and engineering teams to scope, develop, and release AI-powered functionalities.
- Establish performance metrics for AI features and iterate improvements based on adoption and results.
- Stay abreast of the latest AI and large language model (LLM) developments, assessing their relevance to supply chain applications.
- Create detailed product requirement documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria for agile development teams.
- Manage sprint cycles, backlogs, and release schedules within Scrum or agile environments.
- Collaborate with UX and design teams to ensure modernized products fulfill usability expectations.
- Act as the customers' advocate by collecting and synthesizing feedback from sales, support, and end users.
- Provide regular reports on roadmap progress, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- 5 to 8+ years of experience in Product Management, including 2 to 3 years focused on legacy system modernization or platform transformation.
- Proven track record in managing products within the supply chain, logistics, or related domain.
- Demonstrated success in defining and shipping AI/ML-driven product features, beyond theoretical knowledge.
- Strong technical understanding, capable of engaging in discussions about architecture, APIs, data pipelines, and integration methods.
- Experience balancing legacy system limitations with adoption of modern technologies.
- History of developing and presenting multi-quarter and multi-year product roadmaps to executive stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical capabilities supported by data-driven decision-making and KPI/success metric formulation.
- Outstanding communication skills, able to translate technical complexities into accessible business language.
- Hands-on experience with supply chain platforms such as SAP, Oracle SCM, Blue Yonder, Manhattan Associates, Kinaxis, or equivalents.
- Familiarity with AI and LLM implementation approaches like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, forecasting models, and recommendation engines.
- Led initiatives involving re-platforming or cloud migration, including transitions from on-premise to cloud and monolithic to microservices architectures.
- Advanced qualifications such as an MBA or related higher education are a plus but not mandatory.
- Certifications in Agile/Scrum (e.g., CSPO, PSPO) or Supply Chain (e.g., APICS, CSCP) are desirable.
