Job description
Overview
Join InDebted as a Product Lead, a pivotal senior role dedicated to shaping product strategy and overseeing its execution together with a close-knit engineering team. This position, reporting directly to the Head of Product, is located in Sydney with a hybrid work arrangement and available immediately.
About InDebted
InDebted operates at the forefront of collections infrastructure, offering an integrated platform aimed at advancing towards autonomous collections. Operating within a regulated space that deals with consumers under pressure, this role demands refined judgement and innovative thinking.
Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Head of Product and Founder to craft product strategy and a roadmap aligned with company objectives.
- Define development priorities for your small, auto-organized pod and establish clear completion criteria, ranging from documentation to rapid functional prototypes built with AI tools like Claude Code.
- Conduct discovery activities including customer interviews, analyzing competitors, and data-driven evaluation.
- Work with engineering to sequence development efforts, focusing on high-impact deliveries first.
- Manage the end-to-end user experience for both clients configuring the product and the end customers.
- Identify and automate manual tasks within product development and client usage via AI integration on a weekly basis.
- Engage with cross-departmental teams such as Sales, Client Success, Operations, and Marketing for cohesive collaboration.
- Serve as the internal and external advocate for the product.
- Lead launch readiness and go-to-market strategies for new features.
Candidate Profile
- Highly skilled with AI tools, particularly Claude Code or similar, enabling rapid prototyping and artifact creation within hours.
- A hands-on builder, comfortable working with code repositories and shipping functional solutions promptly.
- Demonstrated history of delivering products that substantially improve business metrics.
- Strong analytical capabilities with self-sufficiency in data exploration and interpretation.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging senior internal and client stakeholders.
Success Indicators
- Measurable improvements such as increased self-service resolutions, higher recovery rates without increased complaints, and reduced collection costs, attributable to your leadership.
- Rapid development cycle from concept to release, with prototype presence preceding formal specifications, and increased AI contribution to workload.
- Positive endorsement from engineers about pod velocity and independence when you are leading, including clarity in decision-making trade-offs.
Role Distinctions
This is not a traditional product management position focused on extensive roadmap documents or detailed PRDs. Nor is it a liaison role between business and engineering. The daily use of AI-based development tools is fundamental to the role.
Recruitment Process
- Initial 30-minute conversation with the Head of Product to discuss mutual fit.
- An in-person assessment at the Sydney office, including collaborative problem-solving on real case scenarios and a product challenge with the Head of Product and an engineer.
- A final discussion with the CTO and Founder to confirm enthusiasm and fit, typically conducted remotely. Offers issued within approximately 72 hours.
Additional Information
If interested, applicants should send the following to the provided contact email:
- A resume, portfolio, or link demonstrating what you have built.
- A description of one shipped project you are proud of.
- Two brief paragraphs detailing why the role suits you and a product decision you made with significant consequences, including what you learned.
