About Huda Beauty

Huda Beauty envisions leading the democratization of the beauty industry by empowering individuals to define, create, and enjoy beauty on their own terms. Founded in 2013 by Huda Kattan, an acclaimed beauty innovator, the brand has rapidly expanded to become one of the most dynamic global beauty houses. Driven by a purpose-first ethos rather than profit, Huda Beauty cultivates unique products, compelling content, and a dedicated community, all while emphasizing business excellence and kindness as fundamental values.

Role Overview

As a Product Development Specialist focused on color, you will own and support the comprehensive development process for color products. This includes identifying trends, crafting concepts, driving formula development, and ensuring alignment across departments and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze emerging trends and translate them into compelling beauty concepts.
  • Monitor competitors and keep abreast of new product launches.
  • Contribute innovative color-focused ideas to the product development calendar.
  • Develop aesthetic mood boards that correlate with current projects or inspire new product directions.
  • Possess strong enthusiasm for product textures and an acute color sensibility.
  • Oversee development progress using comprehensive trackers from ideation through to production.
  • Compose detailed and robust product briefs for suppliers, highlighting innovative ingredients and targeted claims.
  • Support the managerial team in evaluating and approving textures for color-related projects.
  • Maintain color product formulation standards and liaise with internal and external partners for execution.
  • Lead specific color development programs as the primary project owner.
  • Effectively communicate texture and shade adjustments to suppliers through daily follow-ups.
  • Manage supplier submissions, ensuring products meet desired performance and attribute benchmarks.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across departments internationally to advance initiatives from concept to launch, working closely with PD operations and marketing teams.
  • Provide timely artwork data (including INCI info, claims, translations) to Design Leads to support artwork briefing and meet deadlines.
  • Support meeting preparations including agenda setting and tracking action items.
  • Travel as necessary to engage with suppliers and facilitate onsite formula approvals under managerial guidance.

Candidate Requirements

  • Three to five years of professional experience, ideally in the beauty or creative sectors.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of formulation principles with the ability to critically assess textures, finishes, sensory qualities, and shade payoff.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-evolving environment.
  • A self-directed and collaborative approach, capable of independent work while partnering closely with supervisors.
  • Exceptional attention to detail while juggling multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Problem-solving orientation and flexibility in adapting to rapid project changes.
  • Strong project management skills with the capacity to prioritize and handle numerous launches and modifications effectively.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills, with a proactive approach to finding solutions.
  • Passion for makeup and the beauty industry.
  • Technologically adept, skilled at creating presentation slides that align with brand identity.
  • Experience interacting with diverse international teams.
  • Robust research capabilities.
  • Flexible and collaborative team player conscious of team dynamics and responsive to fast change.
  • Enjoys staying informed about beauty industry trends, including brands, products, influencers, and bloggers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Canva, AI platforms for data extraction, and trend forecasting tools is advantageous.
  • Makeup artistry experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Employee Benefits

  • Monthly "Self Love Days" at the company's discretion.
  • Premium medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage for employees and their dependents.
  • Monthly coaching sessions with an in-house Success Coach.
  • Employee discounts applicable on all Huda Beauty products.
  • Quarterly complimentary product gifting.
