Our platform supports Australian superannuation funds, asset managers, fund managers, and investment consultancies in handling private and public market data along with APRA regulatory reporting and compliance. Managing assets worth over $4 trillion, these super funds are poised for more national innovation investments through enhanced governance and operational efficiency. While starting in Australia, we have plans to expand into markets such as the UK, Canada, and the US.

We operate with a small, experienced team with international backgrounds in successful startups and global blue-chip organizations. Our approach heavily involves AI integration both in our platform and workflow, enabling impactful outcomes with lean teams.

Role Overview

As the Product Design Lead, you will own the end-to-end design process across our platform, encompassing service design, human-centred research, UX, and UI development. Collaborating closely with product, AI, engineering, and customer teams, you will shape solutions for a complex, high-stakes, regulatory-focused data environment. This is a critical, hands-on leadership position and our first dedicated design hire, responsible for establishing and executing design practices. Future growth may include building a small design team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead human-centred design activities such as user research, journey mapping, and service design focusing on super funds, asset managers, and consultants dealing with private markets data and compliance duties.
• Manage UX design aspects covering information architecture, interaction, and workflow within a data- and document-intensive product.
• Develop and maintain UI design as well as evolve the design system over time.
• Collaborate across teams—product, data, engineering, and customer—to influence product decisions, roadmap priorities, and deliver quality design implementation.
• Introduce rigorous methods for testing and validating design hypotheses with actual users including customers and prospects in stringent financial service environments.

Candidate Requirements

• Approximately 10 years of product design experience at respected design consultancies, agencies, or successful product organizations.
• Proven expertise across UX, UI, and service design delivering comprehensive design solutions rather than specializing in a single area.
• Experience or strong understanding of product management, comfortable engaging in prioritization, scoping, and trade-off discussions beyond merely handling requirements.
• Background in designing for complex, data-heavy, legacy, risk-sensitive, or regulated sectors such as financial services, enterprise SaaS, or compliance is highly advantageous.
• Aptitude for working within a small, early-stage team setting where defining and following design processes is key.
• Experience designing beyond browser interfaces—including email/notifications, generated documents, third-party integrations (API/MCP/FTP/email ingestion), and publishing or integrating with customer systems and agents—is a plus.

Role Flexibility

The role offers flexibility with 3 to 5 days per week, accommodating full or partial days depending on candidate needs.
