Role Overview
The Product Assistant will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day product management and coordination. This role involves handling product data, documentation, launches, updates, monitoring performance, and ensuring smooth collaboration across various departments involved in the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in executing daily product management and administrative tasks.
- Keep all product information, including specifications, pricing, categories, and records, accurate and current.
- Support setup, updates, introductions, modifications, and phase-outs of products across platforms and systems.
- Work collaboratively with teams such as product, merchandising, purchasing, sales, marketing, inventory, and operations to facilitate product-related initiatives.
- Help prepare product catalogs, detailed descriptions, technical specifications, presentations, and supplementary materials.
- Monitor product availability, status, pricing, and relevant key data.
- Track sales data, inventory figures, product performance, and operational metrics.
- Generate reports covering product trends, sales summaries, inventory status, and other analytical insights.
- Detect inaccuracies, missing data, or inconsistencies in product information and coordinate corrective actions.
- Support the execution of product launches, promotional efforts, seasonal campaigns, and updates.
- Maintain well-organized product documentation, databases, archives, and files.
- Coordinate product-related requests, approvals, timelines, and follow-up actions among teams.
- Engage in product research, competitor analysis, and market intelligence as needed.
- Contribute to enhancing product management processes, data quality, documentation, and overall operational workflows.
- Undertake additional administrative, analytical, and operational responsibilities connected to product management when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Product Management, Marketing, Retail Management, Merchandising, Operations Management, or related fields.
- Solid understanding of product management principles, retail activities, merchandising, or general business operations.
- Excellent organizational and coordination competencies, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills and numerical proficiency.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications, notably Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to maintain precise product data and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to manage follow-ups and tasks.
- Capacity to handle multiple concurrent product-related duties and deadlines.
- Proven teamwork skills with cross-functional departments.
- Knowledge or familiarity with ERP, Product Information Management systems (PIM), CRM, e-commerce platforms, or business software tools is advantageous.
- Proactive, responsible, and detail-conscious mindset in working style.
- Skillful at identifying data inconsistencies and coordinating prompt resolutions.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving product, customer, and business demands.
- Eagerness to learn and adopt new products, systems, tools, and procedures.
