About Scopely and the Role
Scopely is seeking a Product Analyst to join the Star Trek Fleet Command team located in Dublin as part of its Live Games Portfolio division. The company fosters a passionate gaming environment and connects millions of players worldwide. Star Trek Fleet Command is a renowned 4X MMO released in 2018, continuously ranked among the top 10 highest-grossing Massive Multiplayer Strategy games.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams during the full game development lifecycle, from goal-setting to assessing live gaming outcomes.
- Define data-driven directions for new features by analyzing extensive datasets reflecting millions of players' behaviours to identify prime opportunities.
- Build and maintain data event models, troubleshoot issues using mathematical and system-oriented problem-solving skills to ensure data reliability.
- Employ SQL and Python for in-depth data analysis, developing analytical frameworks, and measuring the effect of product launches and updates on player and business metrics.
- Apply sophisticated statistical and machine learning techniques such as Difference-in-Differences, regression, and predictive modeling to discern if changes in metrics result from product interventions, player behavior, or external factors.
- Translate complex analytics into clear, actionable insights for diverse teams, including product, design, engineering, and leadership.
- Deliver presentations that clearly communicate findings with empathy, storytelling, and influence to enhance data insight maturity within teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in analyst, data scientist, or business intelligence roles with a successful track record.
- Strong command of SQL for handling vast and complex data sets.
- Proficiency in Python targeting data analysis, statistical modeling, automation, and implementing advanced analytics.
- Experience using statistical modeling, causal inference, experimentation, and machine learning methods for solving complex product/business problems.
- Solid understanding of statistical principles, selecting suitable methods according to the business context and data characteristics.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Effective presentation skills capable of translating complex analyses into actionable recommendations for various company levels.
- Self-motivated with an independent working approach, curiosity, rigor, and a proactive mindset to identify analysis opportunities.
- Avid learner participating in a collaborative workplace.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and methods is an advantage.
- An enthusiasm for video games or a strong interest in the gaming industry.
