About the Role
We offer a unique opportunity to join our Private Tax team in Sydney as a Director, working with some of Australia's leading private clients across various sectors including real estate, motor vehicle dealerships, professional services, retail, technology, and high net worth individuals. Your role will involve delivering strategic, high-impact tax advice influencing private businesses, family groups, and individuals.
As a Director, you will showcase leadership by delegating effectively, passionately engaging with your work, managing financial metrics conscientiously, and focusing on the growth of both your team and client relationships. You will bring a strong technical tax background for advising on complex transactions.
Responsibilities
Your day-to-day tasks will involve addressing complex tax transactions, structuring investments, and providing bespoke tax strategies to prominent families. You'll lead and empower your team through active delegation, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure client satisfaction. Additionally, with Partner support, you'll help guide the practice’s strategic direction, encourage team development, and foster an inclusive, positive culture where all members feel valued. This role supports your professional growth through building expertise, leadership, and positioning for further advancement with ongoing mentorship from Partners and industry leaders.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- At least eight years of prior income tax experience with Big 4, mid-tier professional, or accounting firms.
- Possession of CA, Master’s of Taxation, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with large private groups, multinational corporations, and private equity.
- Proven ability to cultivate strong client relationships.
- Excellent problem-solving and advanced tax technical skills with mature judgment.
- Extensive experience providing strategic tax advice on complex transactions.
- A demonstrated track record of delivering results and showing initiative.
- Expertise in managing multiple client engagements and projects.
- Familiarity interacting with the ATO and other external parties.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching team members through hands-on training.
