Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal Project Manager to join our Oracle Practice in Wellington. This position demands exceptional delivery skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities to uphold our commitment to excellence. Familiarity with Oracle Fusion or comparable large ERP implementations is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage large, multifaceted projects involving several streams such as functional, technical, integrations, data, change management, testing, and collaboration with vendor partners.
• Take full ownership of commercial performance including revenue, margins, forecasting, billing, and expenses to actively promote profitability and business growth.
• Develop and maintain program/project definitions, roadmaps, timelines, budgets, and success metrics aligned with the business case and strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with sales, solution architects, and Oracle practice leads to formulate and review Statements of Work (SOWs), estimates, and work breakdown structures.
• Lead executive-level negotiations on project scope, contracts, changes, and variations.
• Offer strategic leadership on Oracle delivery methodologies ensuring standardization and continuous portfolio improvement.
• Supervise cross-functional teams including senior project managers, workstream leads, and multi-vendor groups to guarantee clear responsibilities and accountability.
• Effectively manage risks, issues, and dependencies across projects, ensuring prompt mitigation and escalation if required.
• Coordinate with related initiatives such as CRM, HCM, data integration, and infrastructure to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery.
• Mentor project managers and delivery leads, review project plans and reports, and intervene when escalation or recovery is necessary.
• Contribute to pre-sales efforts by shaping delivery frameworks, preparing SOWs and approach documents, presenting to clients, and assisting in closing new deals.
• Drive change management initiatives, adoption, and realization of benefits in partnership with business change teams to guarantee tangible business value from Oracle implementations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years of project management experience, including leadership on significant Oracle or enterprise application programs; 3 to 5 years in senior or principal project/program management roles.
• Post-secondary qualification in business, IT, engineering, or related disciplines, or equivalent professional experience.
• Preferred formal certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile/Scrum.
• Comprehensive knowledge of project/program management practices encompassing governance, financial oversight, and commercial models (time & materials, fixed price, outcome-based contracts).
