Job description
About LawConnect
LawConnect aims to transform how individuals facing legal issues access help by blending AI technology with a premier legal marketplace. Backed by a major legal software company, this startup environment fosters innovation and rapid development, driven by a team committed to making legal assistance accessible to all.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyze the complete experience of users seeking legal aid and the lawyers serving them to identify friction points and opportunities on both sides of the marketplace.
- Identify, quantify, and evaluate potential improvements based on data signals, customer feedback, or hypotheses with justifiable impact and costs.
- Develop and defend a prioritized roadmap considering the entire marketplace, collaborating closely with product managers and leadership, making objective prioritization decisions.
- Create clear problem statements, success metrics, and specifications to guide design and engineering through product development.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to move initiatives from backlog to production and monitor their launch.
- Engage with customers—both consumers and lawyers—to gather real-world insights for shaping the product roadmap beyond dashboard data.
- Design and interpret experiments to determine what works, embracing results transparently and iterating product decisions accordingly.
- Share expertise and learn from peers to continuously improve product sizing, documentation, and experimentation practices.
- Maintain open communication with product managers, engineering, design, legal/content, sales, and growth teams regarding progress and challenges.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Senior, Lead, or Principal Product Manager preferably with consumer-facing or two-sided marketplace products.
- Demonstrated ability to independently own product areas end-to-end, from problem identification through development to impact validation.
- Skilled in crafting and justifying product roadmaps that have measurable business impacts.
- Experienced in collaborating with engineering teams to produce clear specifications and understand technical constraints to build effective products.
- Comfortable communicating directly with customers for qualitative validation of product decisions.
- Adept at working alongside other product managers to deliver shared goals without sole ownership of every aspect.
- Proficient in SQL and business intelligence tools, capable of deriving data-driven estimates without analyst support.
- Experience integrating AI features and utilizing AI tools in product work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background with two-sided marketplaces covering supply challenges, liquidity management, and demand matching.
- Experience in pricing strategy or monetization models such as subscriptions or credits.
- Previous work on consumer products involving complex, emotionally significant, and infrequent decisions (e.g., legal, financial, healthcare, or insurance sectors).
- Exposure to deploying products based on large language models (LLMs).
- Comfort in startup or scale-up environments with imperfect data and evolving infrastructure.
Key Attributes
- Curiosity to question the purpose before the method.
- Focus on delivering outcomes rather than managing tasks.
- Preference to avoid releasing features without measurable or customer-visible results.
- Balanced approach to data and customer feedback, valuing both equally.
- Commitment to overall marketplace success over individual ownership.
- Enthusiasm for the rapid AI-driven transformation of software rather than apprehension.
