About the Role
Microsoft's Azure Data engineering group is pioneering analytics transformation in the AI era with products such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Our aim is to construct a data platform tailored for AI, allowing organizations to build data-centric applications, uncover insights, and innovate. As a member of the Data Integration team, you will influence how customers connect, move, transform, and prepare data throughout their entire data landscape, supporting analytics, real-time intelligence, and AI use cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive evaluation of customer input, market developments, competitive landscape, and business possibilities to determine investments yielding customer and business value.
- Develop and define product vision, strategic direction, and roadmap for data integration features and experiences across Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data services.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, research, and business teams to deliver AI-first product innovations that are secure, user-friendly, and customer-focused.
- Prioritize product features, drive development cycles, and oversee execution balancing customer requirements, business goals, and technical feasibilities.
- Set and track critical success metrics to evaluate product performance and identify opportunities for ongoing enhancement.
- Foster strong partnerships with customers, partners, and broader community groups to gather insights and guide product evolution.
- Coordinate with marketing and engineering to facilitate product launches, encourage user adoption, and execute go-to-market plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 8 years in product/service/program management or software development, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree with over 12 years of experience in product/service/program management or software development, or equivalent background.
- At least 4 years experience bringing a product, feature, or user experience from concept to market launch, including design and product-market fit assessment.
- A minimum of 6 years focused on enhancing product metrics such as customer base growth, usage expansion, and churn reduction.
- 6+ years contributing to market disruption through competitive displacement or product innovation.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to satisfy Microsoft, customer, and/or governmental security screening processes, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check at hire and biannually thereafter.
Compensation
This position typically offers a base salary range between CAD 142,400 and CAD 257,500 annually across Canada.
