Overview
We invite applications for the position of Principal / Lead Structural Engineer to be part of our expanding team in Dublin. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating at various organizational levels. The role primarily focuses on projects within the Pharmaceutical and Data Centre sectors.
With dedication, you will lead multiple phases of projects, further enhancing your technical and leadership capabilities while opening pathways for career progression. Mentoring and supporting junior team members will be a significant aspect of your role.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply expertise across a diverse array of structural engineering projects, with preference given to experience in industrial facilities such as Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Food, or Energy sectors.
- Lead and manage a team comprising Engineers, Designers, and Technicians to prepare comprehensive structural packages for tendering and construction stages.
- Collaborate with other PM Group departments to clarify scope, deliverables, deadlines, and scheduling.
- Provide regular progress updates and manage resource allocation related to structural engineering tasks.
- Engage with contractors to promptly address and resolve issues that arise during projects.
- Maintain a strong ethical commitment to safety, quality assurance, environmental stewardship, and business integrity.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in both written documents and verbal exchanges.
- Utilize excellent interpersonal skills to successfully oversee and manage design personnel.
- Proven ability to work closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Demonstrate adaptability and a proactive mindset in dynamic work environments.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge in structural analysis and structural building design principles.
- Deliver structural design projects within stringent deadlines.
- Exhibit excellent proficiency using Eurocodes for the design of structural steel and concrete elements.
- Experience in using structural engineering software tools such as Robot Structural Analysis and Tekla Structures.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Structural Engineering is required.
- Preferably Chartered membership with the Institute of Structural Engineers.
- At least 15 years of post-graduate experience working within engineering consultancy firms.
