Principal GPU Hardware Verification Engineer

Role Overview

This position offers a unique chance to apply your hardware verification expertise on cutting-edge GPU designs within the renowned PowerVR Hardware Graphics division. You will be responsible for key components that address the latest demands and enhancements in graphics IP.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead verification activities for a GPU component or subsystem, spanning from initial planning to final completion.
• Create verification plans and develop and maintain UVM-based testbench components.
• Track, monitor, and report verification metrics to ensure proper closure of tasks.
• Provide verification-oriented insights during design specification meetings.
• Implement UVM testbenches including test creation, sequences, functional coverage, assertions, and verification planning.
• Take charge of defining tasks, estimating efforts, and monitoring progress.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and advancement of GPU verification methodologies.
• Mentor and support team members involved in verification processes.
• Participate in design and verification reviews, recommending enhancements when necessary.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Proven track record in developing verification environments for complex RTL designs.
• Strong knowledge of constrained-random verification techniques and challenges around verification closure.
• Ability to define verification requirements, plan implementation strategies, and architect testbenches.
• Expertise in root cause analysis for complex issues and resolving them effectively.
• Deep understanding of SystemVerilog and UVM frameworks.
• Ability to develop and improve verification processes.
• Familiarity with ASIC design methodologies, workflows, and relevant tools.
• Experience in task planning, effort estimation, and progress tracking at a personal level.
• Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical challenges clearly.

Desirable Additional Skills

• Experience in leading technical teams.
• Understanding of Graphics, GPU, CPU, or SoC architecture principles.
• Knowledge of broader verification technologies, including formal property verification (FPV).
• Proficiency in scripting and coding languages such as Python, TCL, Perl, SystemC, or C++.
• Awareness of functional safety standards like ISO26262.
