Based in Auckland, New Zealand, Jacobs is expanding and seeking an experienced Principal Design Manager to lead major transport projects, including roadways, highways, railways, and bus rapid transit systems. This role operates at the crossroads of strategy, execution, and client engagement, managing large multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects with clarity and cohesion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering delivery of large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate closely with commercial, project management, and technical teams to ensure project success.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support business growth and create future opportunities.
- Represent Jacobs at industry forums and events, showcasing expertise and fostering partnerships.
- Guide, coach, and mentor project teams to promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and safety culture.
- Leverage global resources and connectivity across Jacobs to integrate best practices into project execution.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Proven extensive experience in leading transport infrastructure engineering and design management projects.
- Strong background in business development and managing client relationships.
- Exceptional leadership capabilities, including mentoring and team development.
- Ability to work effectively within global, collaborative work environments.
