Principal Consultant - Workday Payroll Implementation

About the Role

The Principal Consultant specializing in Workday Payroll will act as a crucial link between business stakeholders and technical teams, addressing complex issues related to Workday integrations. This role involves steering clients through the transformation, implementation, and operational phases of Workday Payroll projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop deep expertise in Workday Payroll, covering design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with clients to identify challenges, prioritize needs, and uncover opportunities to enhance processes leveraging Workday Payroll capabilities.
• Design cohesive Workday Payroll solutions ensuring alignment across various workstreams and mitigating cross-functional impacts.
• Use professional judgement to recommend optimal solutions tailored to client requirements, budgeting constraints, and timelines, while remaining adaptable as project scopes evolve.
• Facilitate design workshops and guide configuration choices grounded in best practices and unique client business needs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain continuous engagement and support with clients during all project phases, ensuring seamless migration from legacy payroll systems to Workday Payroll.
• Manage multiple responsibilities independently, consistently updating clients, project teams, and Engagement Managers on progress and changes.
• Collaborate closely with integration teams to configure and test interfaces between Workday and clients’ payroll and benefits providers.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of four years’ experience in functional Workday implementations is mandatory.
• Experience specifically with Workday Payroll implementations is highly preferred.
• Proven ability in requirements gathering, solution design and prototyping, testing, and executing practical business solutions under tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated functional expertise in Human Resources, Payroll, or Financials management.
• A strong commitment to exceptional customer service and collaborative teamwork.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities with skill in managing client expectations effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Willingness to travel onsite as necessary, although travel requirements are minimal.
