Role Overview

The Principal Client Account Partner on the Services team is a senior leadership position responsible for managing a strategically critical client relationship end-to-end. This agile team at Mastercard delivers differentiated, data-driven services including consulting, data analytics, loyalty programs, and security solutions that support global customers' growth and engagement initiatives. The role requires independently leading complex advisory projects while ensuring strong commercial results, nurturing client partnerships, and upholding delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary senior Services liaison and trusted advisor for a major strategic client, maintaining strong relationships with executive and C-suite leaders.
• Develop and execute the Service delivery agenda based on comprehensive insights into client strategy and operating contexts.
• Proactively identify client needs and provide impactful solutions that drive measurable business outcomes and influence long-term strategies.
• Hold full accountability for the account's sales, revenue, and profitability, managing pipelines and leading consultative sales efforts.
• Lead proposal creation, pricing strategies, approvals, and contract negotiations with autonomy.
• Ensure delivery quality by overseeing rigorous problem-solving, analytical standards, governance, and risk management throughout engagements.
• Lead and develop consulting teams, fostering high-performing, inclusive cultures aligned with Mastercard’s values.
• Contribute thought leadership and share expertise to enhance Mastercard Services’ intellectual property and market position.
• Exemplify Mastercard’s leadership principles through accountability, urgency, integrity, collaboration, and brand stewardship.

Experience & Qualifications

• Extensive experience, typically including senior roles in management consulting, advisory, or strategic functions, preferably within financial services or payment industries.
• Proven track record managing large client accounts and consistently meeting or exceeding commercial and delivery targets in professional services.
• Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or equivalent advanced qualification is highly desirable.
• Background in top-tier strategy or Big 4 consulting firms, or significant in-house advisory experience, is advantageous.

• Advanced consulting methodologies including structured problem solving and hypothesis-driven analysis.
• Strong commercial skills with expertise in managing sales pipelines, pricing, and financial metrics.
• Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder influence capabilities.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and presentation tools like Excel and PowerPoint.
• Capability to work independently in dynamic, matrixed environments while coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
• Highly accountable, with a focus on results, continuous improvement, and proactive decision-making.
