Principal Civil Engineer

Role Overview

This is a prime opportunity for a Chartered Civil Engineer to assume a leadership position within major renewable energy and infrastructure projects, including wind, solar, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role sits within a Sustainable Infrastructure team, supporting multidisciplinary design leadership and civil infrastructure design phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil infrastructure design and multi-disciplinary coordination for renewable energy projects.
• Prepare and oversee technical reports and tender documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance within the team.
• Engage directly with clients, contractors, and various project stakeholders to ensure project delivery and client satisfaction.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Chartered Engineer accreditation.
• Minimum of 8 years post-graduate experience for Senior level or at least 12 years for Principal level roles.
• Demonstrated strong infrastructure design and execution experience in Ireland and/or the UK.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary design teams and processes.
• Experienced in client-facing and stakeholder management roles.
• Full driving licence and readiness to travel as necessary.
• Experience within wind, solar, BESS, Design & Build, Owner’s Engineer, or Independent Checking environments is highly desirable.

Employment Details

• Location options include Dublin, Cork, or Carlow.
• Initially, role requires office presence during probation period; transition to hybrid work model thereafter.
• Permanent and full-time employment.
• Salary commensurate with experience.
