About PhysicsX
PhysicsX is an advanced technology company rooted in numerical physics and Formula One, committed to accelerating hardware innovation by harnessing software speed. The company develops AI-driven simulation software designed for engineering and manufacturing sectors across several high-tech industries, including Aerospace & Defense, Materials, Energy, Semiconductors, and Automotive. Their platform enables high-fidelity, multiphysics simulation, empowering engineers to achieve unprecedented levels of optimization and automation in design, manufacture, and operations.
Role Overview
We are looking to establish a founding team member in Singapore as a Principal CFD Engineer (Delivery). This position centers on solving complex engineering problems and developing practical solutions that help customers improve their engineering outcomes. Candidates should demonstrate advanced technical proficiency in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and multiphase modeling applied across diverse engineering challenges. Expertise in CAE software tools like Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or Fluent is essential, along with the skill to automate workflows to perform scalable optimizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build sophisticated multi-physics simulation models independently, handling all steps from geometry preparation and meshing to simulation execution and post-processing, including validation against experimental data.
- Create parametric CAD models using NX or CATIA and automate simulation pipelines to facilitate advanced design optimizations and design of experiments.
- Collaborate directly with clients to address their most challenging problems by integrating CAE and AI tools, communicating simulation insights clearly, making well-informed judgements balancing accuracy and efficiency under tight deadlines.
- Work at the intersection of computational engineering and data science to generate accurate simulation datasets for AI model training.
- Use innovative approaches including cloud-based platforms like Flux and HPC resources to enhance simulation fidelity and performance beyond basic meshing and setup strategies.
- Promote continuous improvement of CFD modeling best practices and adapt modeling approaches to support development of machine learning surrogates.
- Lead projects and mentor junior engineers to foster a collaborative, learning-oriented work environment.
- Travel internationally up to 2-3 weeks per quarter to engage with clients and customize solutions on-site.
Professional Growth
This role offers opportunities to advance either as a senior individual contributor or as a team leader, with responsibilities involving ownership over complex projects and strategic input into future engineering solutions.
Diversity and Inclusion
PhysicsX is committed to equal opportunity employment, encouraging applicants of all backgrounds including groups traditionally underrepresented in technology. The company sponsors university education for talented women from disadvantaged circumstances in science and mathematics. Diversity data collection is handled confidentially to ensure compliance with employment and equality legislation, and does not affect hiring decisions.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in CFD software such as Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or Fluent.
- Capability in automating CAD-driven workflows and optimization pipelines.
- Background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and multiphase phenomena modeling.
- Familiarity with parametric CAD tools like NX or CATIA and programming skills in Python or Java (or ability to quickly learn).
- Minimum 5-7 years industrial experience post Master's or PhD in a commercial setting.
Minimum education
Master's Degree
