Role Overview

As OpenText advances its AI transformation, Ireland plays a pivotal role as an R&D hub focusing on advanced AI engineering, applied AI platforms, sovereign cloud, cybersecurity, and trusted enterprise innovation. We are seeking an experienced Principal AI Developer to lead the design and deployment of robust, scalable production AI systems, overseeing quality, performance, and their tangible impact.

This senior technical leadership position is central to our global AI strategy and expansion in Ireland. You will have a key part in developing sovereign AI for Europe and establishing the EMEA Centre of Excellence for Agentic AI and Sovereign Cloud. Working at the cutting edge of multi-agent AI orchestration within regulated environments, you will influence how enterprise AI is created and operated at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build AI services, orchestration layers, and APIs.
• Lead architectural and technical design decisions.
• Ensure system scalability, observability, and cost-efficiency.
• Manage production readiness including monitoring, logging, and incident management.
• Mentor junior developers and uphold engineering standards.
• Implement LLMOps/MLOps methodologies such as CI/CD, version control, and evaluation.
• Optimize systems for latency, throughput, and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 6 to 8 years of professional experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency with AI and ML frameworks, APIs, and deployment in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with vector databases, retrieval systems, or large language model frameworks.
• Strong capabilities in debugging, performance optimization, and system design.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields.
