Role Overview

The Pricing and Operations Specialist role is a full-time, on-location position based in Mangalore, Tasmania. The primary responsibilities include calculating and reviewing transport and trip costs, aiding in pricing decisions, and managing accurate booking and verification of purchase invoices. The specialist will oversee order processing, create shipment instructions, conduct track and trace tasks, and maintain status updates within internal systems. Coordination with freight forwarders and suppliers is essential to obtain competitive pricing and reliable logistics services. Daily duties also involve monitoring performance metrics, supporting risk mitigation and business continuity planning, assisting with international trade compliance, and taking part in initiatives to improve processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is vital to uphold service quality, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver cost-effective logistics solutions.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, demonstrated through experience in pricing, cost analysis, and post-transport/trip calculations.
  • Background in supply chain, logistics, or freight operations including order handling, coordinating shipments, and tracking activities.
  • Familiarity with international trade compliance, tariff regulations, and risk management in global supply chains.
  • Proficiency in business software and ERP or logistics management systems, ensuring precise data entry, up-to-date status tracking, and accurate invoice processing.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal, capable of negotiating with freight forwarders and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Excellent organizational and time management talents, with strong attention to detail and ability to operate within defined SLAs and KPIs.
  • Academic credentials relevant to Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Finance, or a similar field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
  • Previous roles in pricing, operations, or supply chain support will be advantageous; knowledge of quality management systems is a plus.
