Pricing Actuary - Life Reinsurance

About the Role

A prestigious global reinsurance company is looking to appoint a Pricing Actuary for their Life and Health division in Dublin, reporting directly to the Head of Pricing. This pivotal position plays a crucial role in new business acquisition, offering significant exposure to international pricing strategies, regulatory compliance, and interactions with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess potential new business opportunities to support strategic growth.
• Establish and review pricing assumptions while crafting tailored reinsurance solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders throughout acquisition and onboarding processes.
• Analyze the regulatory, accounting, and economic consequences of proposed transactions.
• Prepare and critique treaty documentation and summaries for transactions.
• Communicate pricing updates and sophisticated reinsurance proposals to senior management.
• Engage in strategic planning, client expansion efforts across Europe, and participate in Group workshops and conferences.
• Keep abreast of changes in regulatory frameworks like Solvency II and IFRS 17 and evaluate their business impact.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Actuary with approximately 2 to 5 years of post-qualification expertise.
• Experience in Life or Reinsurance sectors, especially within pricing or structuring capacities.
• Exposure to international regulatory standards, diverse geographical markets, and varied product designs is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills paired with a strategic mindset and the ability to work independently.
• Effective communication skills, a cooperative approach to teamwork, and the ability to perform well under pressure.
