Prepared Foods Dishwasher - Full Time

Role Overview

The Prepared Foods Dishwasher is responsible for all dishwashing tasks and maintaining overall cleanliness in the kitchen environment. This role supports the positive image of the company by providing friendly, courteous, and efficient service to both customers and team members. The position requires adherence to team and store Standard Operating Procedures, readiness to perform tasks outlined in other team roles as needed, and upholding the core values and goals of Whole Foods Market. Compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other small kitchenware.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, mats, drains, walls, and storage shelves.
• Assist with kitchen deliveries, ensuring proper storage, organization, and rotation of items.
• Report to the workstation on time, properly groomed and dressed; fulfill all scheduled shifts and participate in mandatory trainings and meetings.
• Deliver excellent customer service by addressing customer needs promptly and professionally, including answering phones and paging courteously.
• Maximize sales by following proper procedures for preparing, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.
• Follow and ensure compliance with procedures related to weights and measures, sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace and equipment in line with store standards.
• Perform opening, mid-day, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signage and pricing.
• Promptly report any safety hazards or violations encountered.
• Carry out additional duties as instructed by store, regional, or national leadership.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
• Standing or walking for approximately 6 to 8 hours in an 8-hour shift.
• Use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Physical activities include bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures including freezing (<32 °F), refrigeration (32-40 °F), and high heat (>90 °F).
• Work environments may be wet or dry.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
• Use of tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
• Potential need to use ladders occasionally.

Compensation: The hourly wage ranges from $16.00 to $25.40, depending on experience.
