Role Overview

We are seeking a proficient Pre-Sales Engineer to serve as a vital technical consultant and solution designer for potential clients. This position demands an in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity technologies and the ability to liaise effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborating closely with the sales department, you will craft and showcase customized solutions that meet client expectations and adhere to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with sales teams to comprehend client needs and devise bespoke cybersecurity solutions.
• Conduct architectural workshops, whiteboarding sessions, technical deep dives, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Offer expert technical advice and leadership throughout the pre-sales cycle to align solutions with client requirements.
• Develop comprehensive technical proposals and design documents demonstrating how Rilian’s products satisfy client demands.
• Design and manage Proof of Concept (POC) and Proof of Value (POV) initiatives with high quality.
• Serve as a technical interface connecting customers, partners, product management, and engineering to tackle challenging technical issues and influence product roadmaps.
• Remain current with advancements in cybersecurity tools, technologies, and trends to foster innovative solutions.
• Act as a subject matter expert on Rilian’s cybersecurity offerings by supporting account teams in client discussions and responses to RFPs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
• Over 10 years of experience in pre-sales or solutions architecture, ideally focused on cybersecurity.
• Expertise in advanced incident analysis, threat hunting, and MITRE ATT&CK framework applications across endpoints, networks, identities, email systems, and cloud telemetry.
• Hands-on knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift, OpenStack, Kubernetes/container security, and private/hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience within Security Operations, pre-sales or sales engineering roles involving SIEM, SOAR, SOC, XDR/EDR, cloud security, incident response, or threat hunting.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, and identity management.
• Preferred familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) and DevOps methodologies.
• Background working with partners, MSSPs, alliances, or channels in technical enablement or solution development.
• Experience leveraging AI, automation, scripting, or workflow optimization tools to enhance operational efficiency and delivery.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Successful record of designing and architecting security solutions for mid-market and enterprise clients.
• Strong analytical thinking, proactive and client-centric mindset.
• Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, meeting strict deadlines.
• Competence in creating complex, holistic security architectures from threat identification through remediation and recovery.

Preferred Credentials

• Recognized cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or CEH.
• Experience with cloud security services across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards like GDPR, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS.
