Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Powertrain Systems Engineer to deliver expert technical guidance and customer assistance focusing on electric motor and powertrain solutions. This role involves close collaboration with clients and R&D teams in motor design, field-oriented control (FOC), noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) management, system integration, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the entire product lifecycle from development to mass production.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical liaison for powertrain systems, providing expert support to customers on issues including motor design, control algorithms, NVH analysis, system integration, and application.
- Quickly address and resolve customer technical challenges by conducting thorough problem diagnosis and liaising with the R&D team based in China.
- Engage in technical discussions with customers and assist in project development phases such as testing, validation, and ramp-up to mass production.
- Collect customer feedback and market insights to guide product enhancements and technical upgrades.
- Support international project implementation by preparing technical documentation, troubleshooting, conducting testing support, recreating issues, and participating in on-site debugging and commissioning activities.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, Electric Drives, or a related field.
- Bring at least three years of hands-on experience in powertrain systems engineering.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of electromagnetic motor design concepts and a strong familiarity with the development of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM), induction motors, and other motor technologies.
- Have practical expertise with motor control strategies such as Field-Oriented Control (FOC).
- Understand noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) phenomena, especially electromagnetic noise and structural vibrations, alongside relevant methods for optimization.
- Be knowledgeable about motor architecture, constituent materials, and the manufacturing and assembly processes associated with motors.
