Power BI Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a proficient Power BI Developer to join our team on a full-time basis in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level dashboards and reports, especially within on-premises Power BI Report Server (PBIRS) environments. Candidates should have three to five years of practical experience working with Power BI solutions in large organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design interactive and visually rich dashboards and reports utilizing features like bookmarks, drill-throughs, tooltips, conditional formatting, and dynamic navigation.
• Develop complex DAX measures and calculated columns to meet analytical and reporting needs.
• Use Power Query (M language) for effective data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and integration.
• Build and maintain data models incorporating star schemas, fact and dimension tables, relationships, KPIs, and necessary business logic.
• Write and fine-tune SQL queries to extract, validate, and report data efficiently.
• Integrate Power BI reports with enterprise databases, data warehouses, and other data sources.
• Create and manage JSON theme files and reusable report templates to maintain consistent visualization standards.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) to control data access and maintain report security.
• Optimize report performance using tools like DAX Studio and Performance Analyzer following semantic modeling best practices.
• Publish, deploy, and troubleshoot reports within the Power BI Report Server environment.
• Conduct data reconciliation, functional and regression testing, and provide ongoing production support.
• Address report issues promptly to ensure reliable data accuracy and performance.
• Assist in report migration and source connection updates during modernization projects.
• Document key performance indicators, calculations, data mappings, dependencies, and report settings comprehensively.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in Power BI development including report and dashboard creation.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI Report Server (PBIRS).
• Advanced knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
• Proficiency with Power Query (M language) for data handling.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing principles.
• Competency in SQL query development for data extraction and validation.
• Expertise in dashboard and report design aligning with enterprise standards.
• Knowledge of Row-Level Security implementation for report access control.
• Skills in optimizing report performance using relevant tools.
• Experience in data validation, testing, and enterprise reporting development.

Additional Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with tools like Tabular Editor and DAX Studio.
• Experience working with enterprise data warehouses and SAP data sources.
• Understanding of modern data platforms and lakehouse architectures.
• Involvement in BI report migration and modernization projects.
• Ability to develop JSON themes and standardize reports.
• Knowledge of data governance and best practices for reporting.
