Power BI Developer

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to join our team in Riyadh, KSA. This full-time position requires expertise in developing and supporting Power BI solutions within large enterprise settings, particularly those using Power BI Report Server (PBIRS). The ideal candidate will possess 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience managing end-to-end report development and will be adept at creating scalable, business-focused analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement interactive dashboards and reports leveraging advanced Power BI features such as bookmarks, drill-throughs, tooltips, conditional formatting, and dynamic navigation.
• Develop complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and other business calculations to fulfill analytical needs.
• Use Power Query (M) for data extraction, transformation, and integration tasks ensuring data quality.
• Build and manage robust data models, including star schemas, fact and dimension tables, along with business logic and key performance indicators.
• Create and optimize SQL queries to support data extraction, validation, and reporting workflows.
• Integrate Power BI reports with enterprise data systems including databases and data warehouses.
• Maintain JSON theme files, reusable templates, and enforce visualization standards across reports.
• Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS) to control data access and ensure secure reporting environments.
• Enhance report performance using tools like DAX Studio and Performance Analyzer and apply best practices in semantic modeling.
• Publish and maintain reports on Power BI Report Server, including troubleshooting and production support.
• Carry out data reconciliation, thorough testing (functional and regression), and manage migration and modernization of reports maintaining functionality.
• Document technical details such as KPIs, calculations, data mappings, dependencies, and configurations comprehensively.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient with Power BI development and Power BI Report Server.
• Strong command of DAX for complex calculations and Power Query (M) for data transformations.
• Experienced in data modeling, data warehousing principles, and SQL query development.
• Skilled in dashboard/report design and implementation of Row-Level Security.
• Expertise in optimizing report performance and validating data accuracy.
• Background in enterprise-level reporting and analytics development.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Tabular Editor and DAX Studio for model and performance management.
• Prior experience working with enterprise data warehouses and SAP data sources.
• Knowledge of modern data platforms, lakehouse architectures, and BI report modernization.
• Capability in developing JSON themes and standardizing reports.
• Understanding of data governance and corporate BI best practices.
