About the Role
Step into a vital community leadership position with Canada Post as a Postmaster. Reporting to the Superintendent or Local Area Manager, you will act as the public face for postal services and products in Batchawana Bay, Ontario. This full-time permanent role demands overseeing postal operations, enhancing customer engagement, managing staff, and ensuring efficient postal service delivery in a busy community setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage actively with the local community to promote Canada Post services and products.
- Drive the sales and promotion of postal offerings to both individuals and businesses.
- Oversee post office administration to ensure adherence to retail operating hours and delivery standards.
- Manage postal revenue streams, safeguard assets, and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare necessary reports and documentation related to post office operations.
- Provide leadership by supervising, training, and assessing post office staff performance.
- Support effective management and organization of mail delivery routes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A High School diploma or provincial equivalent, combined with experience in business administration.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing and directing teams.
- Demonstrated customer interaction skills in retail or service settings, including sales and handling cash transactions.
- Familiarity with postal regulations, mailing processes, and service procedures.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, push or pull equipment, perform mail sorting, and stand for extended periods.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is mandatory.
Additional Information
- This position requires working 20 hours per week with scheduling determined by Canada Post.
- One vacancy is available for this position.
- Salary is set at $22.10 per hour.
- Priority transfer consideration is granted to current CPAA union members, especially within the posted area of competition. Term employees with continuous CPAA membership may also apply according to collective agreement provisions.
- Post office operating hours are subject to change based on organizational needs.
