Job description
Position Overview
This role involves contributing to a funded research project that centers on advanced mathematical optimization, specifically the Vehicle Routing Problem with multiple synchronization constraints. The postdoctoral researcher will design models and algorithms, publish findings, enhance team research capabilities, and mentor graduate students.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and develop optimization models and algorithmic approaches addressing the Vehicle Routing Problem with multiple synchronization constraints.
- Create and apply advanced solution techniques, and disseminate research through prominent journals and conferences.
- Work collaboratively with the research team, mentor graduate students, and support the project goals.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline.
- Proven expertise in research, problem-solving, and critical analysis, with a track record of innovative solution development.
- Strong communication and writing abilities, coupled with teamwork skills to contribute to impactful publications.
- Expertise in operations research, mathematical optimization, and algorithm design, especially for complex, large-scale problems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Julia, as well as experience with optimization solvers like Gurobi or CPLEX.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a research group.
